Hiya!

Aussie 23yr old female here (dunno if u can view my profile, first time i've placed an msg on here), living in Scotland and heading to canada next January. I'm heading to Toronto first off - dont have a place to stay and dont have a job. I've got a work visa lined up but apart from that will be traveling on my tod.

Anyone got any advice for me? Is it easy to get accom? What price should I be looking for? (think i'll be sharing a flat). Whats the best area's to live in close to town ect?

Hope you can help!

Cheers!
Sally.

If you are going to work in Toronto move to the subburbs like Oshawa, Ajaz or Pickering...avoid the city like the plague lol. If you go Hamilton/Burlington way well Burlington is pretty good but go tho the west end of Hamilton to live like Toronto avoid the city core and most assuredly the East Ean....thats where i grew up lol.

From Torotno to Niagara is called the Golden Horseshoe with the entire section populated along lake Ontario. It is a very lovely area, my self i like the country and moved 3 hours north but I have been thinking alot about going back.

Good Luck

JEBUS!!!!! This site is impossible! Anyhoodles what are you coming here for with no place to stay? Are you a liddle insane? For god sakes why am I always attracted to the loons! Who says oot anyway? Is that how they talk in Scotland? Thats funny!!! Oot and aboot eh? So yeah to answer your message. Its insanely expensive in Toronto unless you're staying with someone and paying rent. My rent is 1200 a month believe it or not and that's a tiny one bedroom. If you're gonna live here without a car you gotta live downtown. If you lke the ghetto life there then you'll love living in Toronto. It's not so bad unless you actually live in the ghetto. If you live downtown there's plenty of public transit to get you around. As for jobs you can hook up with a lot of different personnel companies that hire temps and get them work i'm sure that'll work out for you. You're cute as a button i'm almost tempted to let you stay here and steal all my stuff.

the core of toronto is extremely expensive for rent. I was paying 500 a month for a tiny room in a loft near the exibition which was EXTREMELY good.
